Small parts
When the pieces to be treated are of small or medium dimensions, tanks such as the one in the figure are used with one or several top entry agitators that recirculate from bottom to top the medium through the load.
Large pieces
When the pieces are large, the problem acquires other characteristics.
It is necessary to reach a level of homogeneity and distribution of flows as uniform as possible so that all the points of a piece receive the same amount of liquid and with the same speed so that the cooling speed is equal and therefore the tempering characteristics coincide.
Experience has shown that being pools with large volumes, these results are achieved with side entry agitators uniformly distributed over two opposite walls.
