Heavy Duty Solutions: From Leaching to Quenching

The metallurgical industry presents the two toughest challenges for any mixing equipment: **extreme abrasion** (mining slurries) and **extreme chemical attack** (acid leaching and pickling).
G&G Ingenieros manufactures "Heavy Duty" agitators designed with high service factors (> 2.0) to withstand shock loads, solid suspension, and continuous 24/7 operation in harsh environments.

🪨 Hydrometallurgy & Mining

Processes involving slurries with high solids content.

  • Leaching (Gold/Copper/Zinc): Keeping ore in suspension to maximize contact with reagents (Cyanide/Acid). We use high-efficiency hydrofoil impellers to lift solids with minimum power.
  • CIP / CIL (Carbon in Pulp): Gentle mixing to suspend activated carbon without crushing it (minimizing gold loss).
  • Autoclaves: High pressure/temperature oxidation.

🔥 Metal Treatment & Quenching

Surface finishing and heat treatment baths.

  • Quenching Tanks: Rapid circulation of oil or water to ensure uniform cooling rates and prevent deformation of steel parts.
  • Pickling & Surface Finishing: Acid baths for removing impurities. Requires chemically resistant coatings.

🛡️ Fighting Abrasion & Corrosion

When mixing abrasive slurries, stainless steel wears out in weeks. We extend equipment life using specialized linings:

  • Rubber Lining (Ebonite/Linatex): The standard for abrasion resistance in mining shafts and impellers.
  • Super Duplex & Titanium: For acid leaching tanks (H₂SO₄) where rubber cannot be used due to temperature.
